Good News from JDR - My friend Willian Giannobile
From my friend Willian (JDR Editor)
Dear Distinguished Journal of Dental Research Contributor:
As the New Year approaches, I wanted to take time to express my gratitude to all those who have been involved in the continued success of the Journal of Dental Research (JDR). It is with great appreciation that I thank the authors for filling the JDR’s pages with diverse and dynamic research, and the reviewers whose dedicated time and helpful critiques promote the quality of science we receive.
Without your diligence and service, the Journal would not be able to demonstrate its top rating by ISI Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Report for Eigenfactor (0.02171) among the 81 journals in dentistry. The Journal remained in the top 3 journals in the Dentistry, Oral Surgery & Medicine category, ranking #2 in 5-Year Impact Factor (4.102) and #3 in 2-Year Impact Factor (3.486).
In the past year there have been significant and exciting advances in oral, dental and craniofacial research. These novel investigations are greatly improving our understanding of oral disease and the development of new therapies to promote oral health.
In 2012, the Journal published its first clinical research supplement. We greatly appreciated the strong support of the research community with the large numbers of submissions we received. The papers from the supplement were shown to be well read. This supplement and ones to come represent the Journal’s commitment to publishing the best science in the broad field of basic, translational, and clinical fields in oral health research. Two more clinical research supplements are planned for 2013.
Although we also saw a distinct increase in original submissions this year, our time from submission to first decision remains one of the fastest in our discipline at 17 days. The JDR publishes cutting-edge research for our readers online within 31 days of acceptance.
In the coming year, the JDR looks forward to continue providing our readership with advances in clinical, biological and biomaterials & amp; bioengineering research. It is my hope that you will continue with us on this journey.
Best Wishes,
William Giannobile, Editor-in-Chief and the JDR Editorial Office
